Are you Tough Enough to Wear Pink?

So the other night Matt and I went to the Ogden Pioneer Days Rodeo. I was invited as a breast cancer survivor and Matt as my "guest", to enjoy a nice meal, a presentation, and a fun rodeo. Boy did we have fun!!! The theme of the evening was...Are you tough enough to wear pink? Every person that wore pink would have $1 donated to breast cancer research. So TONS of people wore pink! And there were tons of tough people! Check out these photos....

I'm not sure how these cowboys are able to subject themselves to the cruel and unusual punishment of a wild bucking horse or bull, but it sure makes for some great entertainment! They are DEFINITELY tough enough to wear whatever color they feel like!!!
Matt and I haven't been to a rodeo in a while, and the last one we went to was pretty boring. I think it was in the Delta center or something and we didn't have great seats and couldn't see very well. The Ogden Pioneer Days Rodeo is the best rodeo I've ever seen! It was so entertaining and fun! Part of the reason was this great clown....he was SOOOO funny! He kept the crowd laughing for 3 hours!!! These pics are of the clown doing some amazing things with his horse. It's UNBELIEVABLE how he can get his horse to do this....But before all of that rodeo fun started, a little presentation was done to honor a few breast cancer survivors. Just before the national anthem was sung the announcer came on the loud speaker...

Ladies and gentlemen, how many of you are tough enough to wear pink? You've seen some pretty brave cowboys, and they are pretty tough. But right now walking into the stadium are some really tough women. These women are cancer survivors and they ARE TOUGH ENOUGH TO WEAR PINK!

And then our names were flashed up on the Jumbo Screen.

Then a couple of breast cancer survivors walked out and sang the National Anthem.

OK people...if that doesn't bring tears...something is wrong with you. I was crying like a baby!! Even with an entire stadium of people staring at me!

I met some pretty AMAZING women who are currently undergoing their battle with breast cancer. And I can definitely speak for them in saying they are some of the toughest women I know!!

So thanks to my awesome hubby for taking such great pictures. And for spending the evening with me. Thanks babe! You're awesome! I can say...we'll probably be back to the rodeo next year...
