La la.. la la....Sadie's World

Sadie makes me laugh every day, every hour! Sometimes every minute. This sweet girl is filled with personality and humor. I thought I'd share a few phrases from......

Sadie's World.

Me: Sadie we need to go to the store now.

Sadie: No way! We going to buy me pink ungrella?

Me: Well, we'll see. We need to go get some groceries.

Sadie: OHH, Ok. Can I bring my baby? She is so so sad and hungry. She needs her toys. I be riiiiight back. You wait for me Mommy? I hurry real quick.

The letter of the day: L

Sadie likes to add the letter L in a couple of her words...

"Shhhh. Be qLiet! My baby sleeping."

"Mommy, I'm cLode, I need get my glubs. The pink sparkles kind."

"Can I lay on bed wiff Daddy? I be very qLiet. I not bovver him."

"I'm so cLode, I need get my coat."

Conversations:

Me: Sadie you can get dressed all by yourself, you are a big girl, go ahead.
Sadie: No Mommy, YOU a big girl, YOU get me dressed. Oh please, you help me?

Sadie: Mom, baby wants to wear jammas ALL day. ok?
Me: Ok Sadie.
Sadie: She has no clothes, just jammas. She be fine?
Me: Yeah, that's ok.
Sadie: Ok. (then walking away talking to her baby) Baby, you be fine, you stay your jammas all day, it's ok.

After seeing an episode of Aurthur, when DW sprained her ankle, we had the following conversation...
Me: Sadie come downstairs it's time for lunch.
Sadie: (very dramatically) Oh, Mom, I can't. My ankle, I sprained my ankle. I can't walk.
Me: Oh dear, well I think you'll be fine.
Sadie: Ok, I coming.

Prayer time:

Sadie says the greatest prayers. And she often insists she says every one. It usually goes something like this...

Please bless food, it will nourish and be good. Please bless boys, they be good at school. Bless Daddy that he is working. Bless Sadie to be nice girl. Bless lisa, shauna they be well. (my friends fighting cancer right now) Bless us sleep good and boys sleep good too.

Then right in the middle of the prayer, Matt notices her eyes are not closed and whispers, "Sadie close your eyes." Sadie replies in a soft whisper, "I can't, my eyes are breathing."

Phone calls:

Sadie LOVES to talk on the phone...(oh boy we're in trouble in about 10 years!) She says the funniest things.

While talking to Daddy...

"Daddy when I laying on the floor watch out and do not step on me! I will break." (talking while she is laying down)

Talking to Grandma...

"Want to see my room? I will show you." (she walks into her room with the phone and "shows" her.) "Look at my babies and my pink bed. They are my favorite. I have my books and Tinkerbell and Cinderella...see them?"

Talking on her TOY phone:

"Oh hi Brittany (her aunt) how you doing? How's Brayden? (Brittany's baby) Oh, he's fine. Oh good!"

Computer Time:
Sadie has recently learned how to use the computer. I get her to pbskids.org and she LOVES it. It is so funny seeing her little hand move the mouse around. She especially loves Curious George and building sand castles. It's amazing how she's learned to navigate her way around the website.
So now she says, "Mom, I play on the puter?" or " I can't right now, I play George on the puter." or "tell boys I'm busy, I playing games on the puter."

Sadie's Friends...

Sadie calls any kid she meets her friend. Lately, she's played with a few girls from the neighborhood. I hear her talking to her baby..."Yes, baby, Laina is my friend. She's my friend. And Aspen my friend too! I play with friends. I need play with Kenzee. She's my friend."

The other day at Ethan's basketball game she sees another little girl... "look mommy! My friend! I go see her! That all right? Ok, I be riiiiight back."

I could probably go on and on and as I think of more I'll add them. It's so much fun being home with just me and Sadie all day. (well, most days it's fun...there are those days, when it's...well...not fun...she definitely has her moments.) I'm just glad I have some comic relief now and then...I can't wait to hear what she says next!
P.S. While writing this, 3 of the above conversations happened....

Snow Angel

Sadie has been asking to play outside for days now. I finally gave in to her constant begging and spent 30 minutes getting her ready to play outside.

She had soooo much fun!

I feel so guilty I didn't take the time to get her out there sooner...she stayed outside for an hour and a half and laughed the entire time. She's such a sweetie! Looking at how much fun she had almost makes me want to go and frolick in the snow with her!!! almost....

10 Years Old...

Happy 10th Birthday Spencer!

Everyone was so excited for Spencer's birthday! (Including Spencer of course!)

Ethan put on his "best" face for the celebration. (and the camera)

And Sadie was the Energizer Bunny gone wild! Gotta love all the dancin'!

(who are these kids parents???)

Spencer got a really cool Star Wars Clone Wars helmet that has a "voice changer" and his favorite from all the Grandmas and Grandpas...MONEY!
Thank you! Thank you!

Spencer invited one friend for an evening of bowling and some pizza...We had a blast! Sadie was a little scared at first, but quickly decided it was "her turn" every time! (notice the picture of her sitting on the floor crying...yeah, it was rough going at first)

So happy birthday to my (gulp) TEN YEAR OLD!! That makes me feel so old!! Spencer is one of those amazing kids that has his sweet, sensitive side, but knows how to get crazy! He and his friend Jake were dancing all around the alley having fun. That's my boy! Love you dude!
