One, Two, Three...FOUR!!!!!

Oh I just can't believe it! My sweet little baby girl is FOUR!!! Where did the time go? It seems like just yesterday I found out the miracle of all miracles that I was pregnant! And now our sweet little Sadie is 4!

We had so much fun for her birthday. Matt decided we should surprise Sadie with a special outing to the Disney Princesses on Ice show. It was all I could do not to spill the beans before the big night. We got a sitter for the boys so Matt, Sadie and I could have a fun evening. We started with the dinner of her choice...McDonald's of course! Then we walked across the street to the ESA and told her we were going to see the princesses. Her eyes opened wide and she said, "Really?? Right now?!!! Oh YAY!!!!"

I must say it was a very entertaining production. Even I loved it! Matt even said he loved it too! Way to go Disney!
We had such a fun evening. This is what Sadie thought of it...

So after 10 almost 11 years of birthday parties filled with Star Wars, Power Rangers, Shrek and of course Transformers, I couldn't wait to throw Sadie and her friends a princess party!!! Here are the invitations...

We told all the guests to arrive in their favorite princess attire. Look how cute!

Here's the Birthday Princess..

I even joined in the fun and dressed as Cinderella. Thanks to my sweet friend Denise for lending me the costume and making the most perfect princess music CD!!!

Can I just say having a party with little girls is MUCH, MUCH different than it is with little boys? I was prepared to fill every minute of party time with games, activities, treats, crafts, and of course food. But much to my surprise, the girls were little angels!! There were several minutes of the party that were completely silent! They were all busily working on their necklaces! How is this possible? My boys parties are so chaotic and crazy and wild! It was a party truly from heaven for me!

Later than evening, we invited the Grandma's and Grandpa's over for a little family celebration...

Sadie LOVED all her fun gifts. Pet Shop, Pet Shop, Pet Shop! And she also got some cute books and clothes. Thanks Grandma's and Grandpa's!!

I spent a few hours baking a "princess cake". I'm sure a lot of you have made these before, but it was my first time. Ever since I saw the Pampered Chef bakable bowl several years ago, I've dreamed of making this type of cake. Sadie loved it!

And then of course we got to eat it! MMMMM. Cherry Chip!

If I could freeze this age, I totally would! Sadie is such a sweetie. Can she just be FOUR forever? Please??

When the kids take over...

Lately I've been letting Sadie take her own pictures by herself with my point and shoot camera.  She'll carry the camera all over and snap all kinds of interesting pictures.  Here's just a few pictures she took...

You can click on the collage to see it larger...

I really liked a few pictures she took of the boys playing with their toys.  She took really nice close-ups of each toy.  Too funny!!

Happy Halloween!!!

This year for Halloween, both boys wanted to be something "scary".  Especially Ethan.  He told me to pick out a super creepy costume.  Since when did my sweet little boy who wants to be a puppy dog for Halloween grow up and decide he wants to be scary?  Just tell me when that happened!!  I did my best to find "creepy" costumes...

Here's Ethan's creepy skeleton...

Look carefully, cuz when I was putting together this collage, there were a few pictures that really did creeeeeep me out!!

Here's Spencer, the Alien...

Definitely not quite as scary as Ethan, but still....when did they decide scary is good?  I'm still thinking about when Spencer was a cute little pumpkin!  It's so hard to see them grow out of the fun, cute costumes of the good 'ol days.

And amongst the creepy and the scary lies a beautiful Princess Aurora.

Did you think Sadie would choose any other costume besides pink?  Her favorite princess is really Cinderella, but her dress is blue, so we couldn't do that.  So she settled for Sleeping Beauty.  Honestly though, it was soooo fun to have a little princess!

I'm so glad we have Sadie to add the splash of bright colors in with the creepy costumes!  I love the picture of the boys shooting each other and Sadie is in front posing like a true princess.  It's as if she's saying, good will always conquer bad!!  (I didn't tell her to pose like that by the way...)

Halloween night was filled with lots of trick or treating and then of course the last stop at Grandma's.  The kids got SO.MUCH.CANDY!!!  They loved seeing how full they could fill their pillow cases.  And the funny thing is after Halloween is over, they don't really eat it.  I know what you are thinking, kids not eating candy?  But really, we always have candy in the house so they only eat maybe 1 piece a day.

Halloween was really fun this year!!!
