Fit Me Pink!

Ok people, have I got a good blog for you!! Ever wanted to know how real Mom's stay in shape and stay healthy? Not the crazy skinny freaks you see on TV, but real, busy full time mom's? Well my cute sister-in-law and her sister started a fitness blog. You just have to check it out! I love the Dove ad they put on there (that most of us have seen already) about how we have a distorted view of what beauty really is. It's refreshing to know that someone else agrees we are all not going to be a size 2 with perfect eyebrows and cellulite free thighs. Robyn and Kimberly take the practical mom's schedule and routine, and add a little healthy me time to it. So check it out and leave 'em some comments!!! Click here...

Yay! Thanks for the free advertising! :) I'm really excited about our new blog, but was kind of nervous that no one would want to read it. So thanks for the shout out! I LOVE all the Dove ads...I think they first aired on the superbowl a few years ago. Especially now that I have a daughter, I don't want her to grow up thinking she has to look a certain way to be beautiful. I want her to be beautiful on the inside more than anything! Also, from what I've read, working out at night will boost your metabolism temporarily, so it will take a bit to wind down, but not significant enough that you shouldn't work out at night. It may actually make you sleep better! Also, working out twice in one day will help you burn more fat. On Oprah's boot camp a few years ago, part of the program was adding in a second workout session twice a week. Recent studies have shown that even spreading out your workout into 10-minute intervals throughout the day is just as effective as one long workout. So pretty much, workout whenever, and for however long. The important thing is to work out! And yes...some women can "bulk up" but not to the point of the crazy body-building women that look like men without steroids :) I loved your comment. I would love for you to write a guest post sometime about keeping your body healthy post-cancer (along with all those positive thinking quotes you gave at my enrichment). I'll talk to you about it sometime. I know you're busy with your business, and life in general, but I think you have so much to contribute! Love ya!!!

Soooo cool! What a great idea/blog/advice from REAL ladies. I'm going to check FitMePink regularly, since I need all the inspiration I can get. I also loved your Lagoon post and all of your observations about how it has changed over the years. So true, I noticed all of those things when we went last summer...

I think it's great when people can be realistic about body and health expectations. I pretty much expect that I will be able to appreciate their inspiring words...and then not do anything about it in my own life. But that's where I am right now.

I am walking to and from school twice a day now, and that is the extent of my exercise routine. I eat a treat daily, and I usually have one before bed. So far this is not serving to help me lose weight. But I've maintained the same figure through a year of chaos. Right now that's as good as it's gonna get.

You never know when I may get inspired to do more. When I do I'll remember this blog.
