I will Survive!!!

Festival of Trees..... Young Survivor Sisters Style!!!

So last year, my friend Aimee found these cute pink Christmas trees and thought it would be fun to put them in the Festival of trees representing my breast cancer support group.

My friend Laura (pictured below) and Debbie helped me organize and get ideas for these trees.

Didn't they turn out so cute??? We were going for the fun DIVA look and decorated with high heels, sunglasses, and lots of BLING.
We dedicated the tree to one of the girls in our group, who last year, lost her life to breast cancer at the young age of 30. And to one of our group members who lost her son this past summer in a tragic accident.
We wanted the theme of the trees to be, that even when trials and difficult times come, we can all try and laugh and say, "I WILL SURVIVE"!!!

So you'll have to go to the Festival of Trees and check em out!! It's tree number F-13. Just look for the pink!
I've been super busy lately with photo shoots, (YAY!) and getting these trees ready, so I haven't had any time to blog... so here's a quick wrap up...
Thanksgiving: Was great...minus the puking Ethan and the chest cold Matt. My poor guys had to stay home and have leftovers!!
My computer crashed. Oh yeah, crashed and burned. Luckily for me I have a technical savvy Father-in-law that came to the rescue. Never the less, it still required a new computer purchase. Which is great because I got a MAJOR upgrade, but bad because it was pricey! Luckily we were able to jump on some of the Black Friday sales and got a great deal with Costco. My new 24 inch monitor is so amazing! And the processing speed is so quick in photo editing! It's a dream come true! I should be able to get my photos done tons faster now!
I haven't put up ANY of my own Christmas decorations yet. In fact, I just took the pumpkins off my porch. I've had 3 pink trees in my front room for the past week, so I'm hoping now those are out the door, I'll be able to decorate!!
So that's about it...oh and did I mention? I'm so grateful for my family! I wanted to do a cool gratitude post in honor of Thanksgiving, which I feel is one of those holidays that is overtaken by Christmas, but my broken computer issues and sick family, stopped that from happening. I really feel so blessed to have such an awesome husband and the three greatest kids. They are so great and the past 3 weeks since my boys have been off track, have really been fun. I can't believe I'm saying it, but it's true. They've been great.
Well, I'm off to the editing screen now and that's where I'll be for the next several weeks!
'Tis the Season!

Erin, I love the pink trees!! Oh the festival of trees, wish we were there to see them up close and personal. That's a bummer about Thanksgiving. Sounds like the stomach flu is going around everywhere. Rachel got sick too but at least she waited until Friday so we could enjoy Thanksgiving day. Have fun decorating!

I love those trees!!! I was a little grossed out when I saw blue and red trees at the craft store decorated for some stupid game a couple weeks ago. I thought it was a little tacky to have a colored tree. HOWEVER- the pink really works. And I love the DIVA/I will Survive theme. You guys are awesome - I have so much respect for all you've been through and accomplished. Way to go.

I love the festival of trees and I really am bummed because I don't think I am going to be able to go this year...way to many things going on. But I love your tree and the dedications are perfect. I am sure it will make a great deal of money for the kiddos at primary childrens.

Three years ago we had our young women do a "pioneer" tree called Living the Legacy and we made sure every single thing on the tree was homemade. It was one of the most stressful things we have ever done, but I loved it enough to think about doing it again.

Can't wait to see our pictures and get our Christmas card out.

Thanks for a great time yesterday. And the trees really do look amazing. I can't imagine the time! Way to go!

We'll try to get there and see it...now Will's pretty determined, so I bet we'll make it happen.

You are just so busy....I hope you hold up! Don't forget to find time for yourself.

Erin! I saw the trees last night and they were awesome!!! Justin and I even wore our "Save The Ta-tas" t-shirts so we could get a picture wearing them next to the trees. I'll have to put it on our blog. Sorry I was no help, crazy stuff going on right now, but I
am so glad you did it. Thanks for representin'!

Your pink trees were fabulicious (Ashley's new favorite word that has been sticking in my head)! They are so neat and PINK, I would bid on them if I could go to the Festival. Glad to see that you are all doing so well! I emailed Becky that I would be around at Christmas and that we should get together one day after Christmas!
